Craig

Craig joined the team as Associate Vicar in June 2016 having served as Curate at SMB since 2012. He trained at St Mellitus College in London and worked for a local parish church in Earl’s Court. He became a Christian through the witness of some friends at Durham University where he studied Geography. His particular responsibilities include overseeing the Fellowship Groups and discipleship at SMB. He is married to Becky and they have a little boy called Noah. He likes playing football, squash and cycling, as well as good coffee and fine wine.

Curate: Stephen Carter

Stephen

Stephen joined SMB as Curate in July 2016 and has responsibility ministering to young adults and students at SMB. He became a Christian at 13, finding Jesus in the midst of his disillusionment with life and faith. Getting a sense of God’s love for the church and the world, he felt a call towards ordination as a teenager but knew that call was on hold. Before joining SMB he toured with a Youth For Christ rock band, studied theology at London School of Theology, and trained as a teacher in Cambridge, before spending four years teaching Secondary RE in Dunstable. He’s married to the wonderful Tiffany who returned from living in Uganda in order to marry him. Lucky guy. Stephen enjoys playing rugby, has recently joined a local side, but invariably complains about his aches and pains.

Luke

Luke oversees the youth work and the sung worship life of SMB. He's married to Bex and together they have a son, Elijah, and a daughter Lois. As a family they enjoy camping adventures and a good pudding! He loves seeing God move in young people’s lives, and seeks to encourage young people to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and root themselves in love for the gospel. Outside of the office Luke can be found following all the latest sport, is a big Southampton FC fan and enjoys checking out the latest gadgets.

Children's Worker: Miriam Taylor

Mim

Mim joined the staff team in 2011 as an intern before becoming the full time Children’s Worker in 2012. She had moved to Canterbury to study Primary Education at university and decided to stay and make this wonderful city her home. Mim can’t sit still for long, and in her spare time can be found dressmaking, jiving the night away, baking and hanging out with friends. She is the only veggie on a staff team of keen carnivores, but wins them round with the occasional homemade cake or two.  Mim loves a challenge and can often be found exploring other cities with the aim of visiting all English cathedrals in two years!
