Myriad

The Kent Myriad Hub

Myriad exists to inspire and equip everyday people to form new church communities and make disciples

Launching November 2025 – a partnership between Myriad, St. Mary Bredin Canterbury and St Lukes Maidstone.  Perfect for anyone who may be sensing God’s call to plant a new worshipping community.

“Welcome to the Kent Myriad Hub.  In working with hubs nationally over the past 2-3 years I’ve seen the Holy Spirit envision and equip everyday people to establish new communities and see new disciples made.  I’m excited to see what He will do in Kent as various teams journey together on the Myriad Pathway.  I do encourage you to come to one of our Taster events happening online at 7.30pm on 25th and 30th September.  If you are wondering if the Hub is for you, or else if you are a Church Leader you would like to know more, drop me an email if you would like an opportunity to chat it through or would like the Taster link: shiela.porter@icloud.com”

What is Myriad?

Myriad was formed as part of enabling the Church of England vision for 10,000 new worshipping communities.  Today, Myriad is also working with various churches and denominations across the country as hubs are established.

Built on 5 golden threads:

Passion for Jesus

Priority of prayer

Missional living

Discipling communities

Leading as a team

Over two and a half years, we will equip you and your team to plant, establish and grow communities of faith locally or within your network.

FAQ’S

Who is the Hub for?

Anyone sensing a call to a place or people group.  Designed to be lightweight suiting people with busy lives.  Whether you’re exploring ideas or already started there is the benefit of gathering with other like-minded people to share the journey and receive training and support.

For those who are able to:

Commit to the 5 Gathering dates (dates provided upfront)

Ideally start with a small team of 3-5, but if starting on your own, form a team of 2-3 within 6 months

Have your sending church leader or other appropriate person’s support

    What is a Gathering?

A Learning Community giving space to eat together, worship, receive input, reflect & pray, enabling team time and planning for the coming 6 months.

Future Hub Gatherings will have a May/November pattern through 2026/2027.

In addition, there is an online evening mid-stage meeting twice a year enabling us to catch up and share some input.  Also the Hub Whatsapp group is a great community builder.

There will be a small cost per gathering which will mainly go to cover meals and materials.  However, we don’t want this to preclude anyone.

Each 6 months is focussed on 5 key themes:

    Vision and discernment

    Leading as team

    Forming a discipling pathway

    Forming a discipling community

    Growth and multiplication

    What will it cost?

Myriad, St Mary Bredin and St Lukes are committed to providing this as a launchpad for what God will do through those taking this pathway. And so they are investing in it. We do also ask that each individual make a small contribution to the cost of the gatherings.  The cost for each weekend gathering (once every 6 months) which includes supper and lunch is £25 per person or £60 for a team of 3-5.

We don’t want anyone precluded from joining so if the cost would be difficult for you, please do get in touch.

How can I find out more?

Our application process is now open and we would love to talk to you if you sense God might just be calling you to take this journey, or maybe you’re already involved in something which you feel could be helped by looking again at your call and vision.  The Myriad Learning Community could be just the place for you. Please do get in touch.
