Launching in November 2025, the Kent Myriad Hub is a partnership between Myriad, St. Mary Bredin Canterbury and St Lukes Maidstone and is a brilliant opportunity for anyone who is sensing a call by God to plant, lead and develop new worshipping communities.
What is Myriad?
Myriad is an initiative that now has hubs across the country and Dioceses as well as some upcoming hubs in other parts of the world. The Myriad Pathway provides an opportunity to journey with others on a learning pathway designed to equip lay planters with the tools needed to plant and establish new church communities in their context.
The 5 golden threads of Myriad that run through all we do are:
Passion for Jesus
Priority of prayer
Missional living
Discipling communities
Leading as a team
Over two and half years, the hub will provide you with a range of key tools to accompany you and your teams as you journey with us and seek to plant, establish and grow communities of faith in your local area or amongst a network of which you’re a part.
Each lay planter will be supported by an oversight minister. This will usually be the recognised leader of your sending church but can be someone else if appropriate. They will also have a Mentor to accompany them.

I’ve had the privilege of working with a number of hubs over the past 2-3 years and have seen first hand the way that through them, God has equipped everyday people and new disciples have been made. I’m excited that Myriad is soon to arrive in Kent and I’m greatly looking forward to seeing God at work as we journey together.

Who is the hub aimed at?
It is a place for anyone who senses a call to start a new church community but isn’t ordained. You may not yet have worked out what it looks like and would benefit from gathering with other like-minded people to discover how to go about it. Or you may have started a new church community or missional community and would appreciate training and support.
Our only requests for those joining:
Commitment to attending the Learning Community dates
Even if starting on your own, that you commit to finding at least one or two others to form team in the first 6 months
That the leader of your sending church or other appropriate person can support you.
In addition a Mentor is provided for the key leader so they can meet with them online 3-6 times a year for support. There is also an online mid-stage meeting twice a year for some input and catch-up. The Hub Whatsapp group has proved to be a great community builder and communication link.
When will the hub run?
The 1st Kent Hub Gathering will take place at St Mary Bredin Church in Canterbury on the evening of Friday 14th November, 2025 and 9.30am-4pm on Saturday 15th November 2025.
Future Hub Gatherings are planned for: 15th/16th May 2026, 13th/14th November 2026, 14th/15th May 2027, 19th/20th November 2027. Each gathering will include eating together, worship, input, reflection and team time; reflecting on the input and working together discussing plans for your church community. There will also be space for social time and the development of relationships as well as prayer.
What will the hub offer?
Our aim is to provide a safe space where you can grow and develop as a team. We want to provide you and your team with some useful tools you need to form new worshipping communities.
The hub learning pathway is based on five themes:
Growth and multiplication
Vision and discernment
Leading as team
Forming a discipling pathway
Forming a discipling community
What will it cost?
Myriad, St Mary Bredin and St Lukes are committed to providing this as a launchpad for what God will do through you. And so they are investing in it. We do also ask that each individual make a small contribution to the cost of the gatherings. The cost for each weekend gathering which includes supper and lunch is £25 per person or £60 for a team of 3 or more. If this is paid for in advance of the 5 sessions there is a discount.
We don’t want anyone precluded from joining so if the cost would be difficult for you, please do get in touch.
How can I find out more or sign up?
Our application process is now open and we would love to talk to you if you’re thinking of starting a new church community or are already on this journey. The Myriad Learning Community could be just the place for you. Please do get in touch.
