This Church has so many beautiful women who have wonderful stories of life to share. But sometimes due to the busyness of life these faith filled stories are not being shared. We want to change this! Over the coming months we will be organising some fantastic women’s events which will allow us to come together as women to be inspired, loved and encouraged.
As women we have so many responsibilities at home, in our families, the work place and the wider community. These at times can feel very burdensome and we do not always have the inner resources to meet these demands. We need to seek out life giving opportunities to fill our souls and strengthen our hearts again. We hope that the women’s events will be a place where you will find refreshment and feel able to both laugh and cry in equal measure.
At each event there will be opportunities to eat some lovely treats, build friendships, express your creativity, and connect with God in a variety of different ways. We want all women in the church to feel able to attend and just come as you are. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of the events please do connect with the women’s ministry team. Look forward to seeing you at the next event.
Small donations towards food would be welcome.
With love,
Women’s ministry team
Going Deeper – Getting closer to God
We meet barriers, but God…. gives us promises.
Saturday April 25
Women of the Word Conference
9am to 1pm
Life as a woman in today’s world can be overwhelming, balancing responsibilities, facing challenges, and navigating a culture that often pulls us in many directions. In the midst of it all, how do we stay rooted in truth and live as women shaped by God’s Word?
Women of the Word 2026 is a conference we are hosting with The City Church, Canterbury. It is a morning designed to equip and encourage you, offering a time to step away from the busyness and refocus on what truly matters. Through rich Biblical teaching, practical seminars, and fellowship over coffee and cake, we’ll explore how God’s truth transforms our lives and strengthens us for the journey ahead.
We are excited to announce that our main speaker will be Susie Voke from Medway Community Church. Susie studied in Canterbury so is looking forward to returning to her student church. She will be speaking from Proverbs.
We will also be running a number of seminars:
1. The Landscape of the Heart: journeying with God within
Exploring the inner landscape of our heart and discovering how our heavenly Father walks with us through every season and condition of our heart.
2. Creating healthy habits for your faith to thrive
Examining whether our habits are helping or hindering us and finding out how we can develop habits that facilitate pursuing God in our day to day lives.
3. Adopt a psalm: developing intimacy with God
Exploring how the psalms can help us connect with God on a deeper level.
4. Hearing from God
Taking time to explore how God speaks and giving Him time to do so.
Parking spaces at St Mary Bredin are limited and we would like to reserve them for those who are serving or with accessibility needs, so please share lifts and use local on-street parking or car parks, or use public transport if possible. The church is 5 minutes walk from both Canterbury Bus Station and Canterbury East Train Station.
