Soma UK

SOMA’s worldwide ministry envisions, encourages and equips evangelism and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, releasing people into adventures and experiences of God beyond their wildest expectations. As a SOMA Abbey Church, SMB partners through sending out short-term teams, supporting SOMA’s vision to connect deeply to the nervous system of the body of Christ and join the Holy Spirit on his great mission to the world, whilst SOMA helps partner Churches be equipped for ministry at home.

LOVED
MBALE, UGANDA

LOVED

My name is Bex Henderson and I am currently living in Mbale, Uganda working with JENGA CDO.

JENGA runs a huge variety of different sustainable projects, one of which is called LOVED Children’s Centre.

LOVED provides a safe space during the daytime for vulnerable children below 3 years, who are facing challenges such as malnutrition, substance abuse or neglect due to their disability. Whilst the children are at LOVED, we work to empower and equip parents with skills so that they can sustainably provide for their families.

My role as founder of LOVED has been to fundraise support for the project as well as to equip our amazing project manager and team with skills on early years development.

Jenga

JENGA Uganda was founded in 2005 when a Ugandan Pastor and a British businessman came together over a shared vision of God’s love for the people of Uganda. Since then, they’ve invested their hearts, skills and lives into the community development ministry of JENGA in and around Mbale-town. JENGA operates over 40 varied, community development projects aimed at strengthening local society and offering a practical, tangible representation of God’s love to the people they impact.

Martin + Lillian Hayter
Canterbury/Uganda

Martin + Lillian Hayter

Martin and Lillian have a lifelong call to serve and minister in East Africa, especially amongst the Karamojong, the very poorest, most marginalised and least evangelised people in Uganda. Currently they and their five boys are based in the UK for medical reasons. Martin is still working alongside church and community leaders in Africa through African Pastors Fellowship and maintaining close links with key church and denominational leaders in Karamoja. Lillian cares deeply about supporting progress in Karamoja’s impoverished communities and helping them develop.
